Call for Applications, SRP English Stream, 2027-28 – Jordan

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) would like to invite qualified refugee youth in Jordan to apply for the 2027-2028 cohort of the Student Refugee Program (SRP).

The online application form will open on February 16, 2026. We will accept applications until the deadline of March 14, 2026, at 11:59 pm Amman time.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Registered as a refugee or asylum seeker in Jordan with the UNHCR;
  • Be currently living as a refugee in Jordan and have continuously resided for 3 years at the time of application (must have arrived before January 1st, 2023);
  • Be between 18-25 years old as of January 1st, 2026 (applicants must be born no earlier than January 1st, 2001 and no later than January 1st, 2008);
  • Have completed secondary education and be in possession of the paper copy of the official and original secondary diploma and transcripts, with a minimum academic grade is 65% or equivalent at the time of application;
  • Be able to undertake academic studies in English;
  • Be single (unmarried) with no children;
  • Be facing barriers to accessing or completing undergraduate post-secondary education;
  • Be self-reliant, mature, and suitable for integration in Canada as an individual.
  • Be eligible and suitable for resettlement under the criteria of Canada’s Private Sponsorship of Refugees program;

How to Apply

  • All information entered in the application must be completed entirely in English. Any data submitted in a language other than English will not be considered.
  • Upload scanned copies/ clear photos of the following required supporting documents with this application. Please ensure that all of your documents are saved as electronic files (images or PDFs) as these are the only formats accepted by the Application Form:
    • Secondary School Certificate / Diploma (Tawjihi) and transcript (must be in possession of the original).
    • Your UNHCR Certificate.
    • Any official ID that you have, such as a passport or national ID card.

Overview of the SRP Selection Process

Applicants must submit a complete SRP application. Only eligible applicants are shortlisted and invited to take a Duolingo English test. Those who meet the English language requirement may be interviewed. The selected students will receive sponsorship offers after verifying their documents and status.

  • The SRP values gender equality. Qualified female candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates who are competent in both French and English can indicate this in their application form and may express their language of preference.
  • Ensure you answer all questions fully and honestly. We will be unable to shortlist applications which are incomplete or where documents are not clearly visible. Please ensure the photos/PDFs which you attach are legible.
  • WUSC is unable to add documents or change details in your online application should you make a typing error. If you make a mistake in your online application, it is the applicant's responsibility to submit a new application before the application deadline. In cases where applicants submit multiple applications, WUSC will only consider the details in your most recent application.
  • Though optional, applicants are encouraged to attach training certificates, awards, reference letters, etc. to their application to support the assessment of their candidacy.
  • Please note: SRP applicants are expected to present WUSC with honest and consistent information and documentation during the application and interview process. WUSC has a zero-tolerance policy regarding the submission of false identification or academic documents. Applicants who misrepresent or withhold any information, or falsify their documentation, in order to meet SRP eligibility, will be permanently banned from future consideration.
